Oil Free Granola | Lupus Canada Recipe Corner

This oil free granola is naturally sweetened and offers a nourishing, heart healthy option for breakfast or snacking. Made with whole grains and seeds, it provides fibre and sustained energy to help support overall wellness. Easy to customize with your favourite nuts, seeds, and dried fruit, this homemade granola adds wholesome crunch to yogurt, smoothies, or fresh fruit without relying on added oils or refined sugars.

Ingredients

4 cups rolled oats
½ cup nuts of choice (pecans, walnuts, cashews, almonds, etc.)
¼ cup flax seeds
¼ cup pumpkin seeds
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp salt
½ cup water
¼ cup maple syrup
2 tsp vanilla
1 cup dried fruit of choice (raisins, cranberries, apricots, dates, etc.)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 250°F.

Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl.

In a liquid measuring cup, combine the water, maple syrup, and vanilla. Add to the dry mixture and stir until well combined.

Spread the mixture evenly over two 9 x 13 baking sheets.

Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even toasting.

Allow the granola to cool completely before serving. Enjoy!

Storage & Serving Tips

  • This recipe can be doubled or tripled and stored in the freezer to keep fresh. Once cooled, store in an airtight container.
