Verne Urquhart-Cox

Verne Urquhart-Cox is a PhD Candidate in Molecular Genetics at the University of Toronto. She holds an Honours Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biomedical Science and Global Health from York University. Her research focuses on mass-spectrometry based metabolomics. Throughout her life, Verne has dedicated much of her time to charitable organizations and supporting the education and development of the youth in her home country of Saint Lucia. Her decision to become a part of Lupus Canada was inspired by her mom, who was diagnosed with Lupus shortly after her birth and has been in remission for over 15 years.
