Lupus Awareness Month 2025
Lupus Awareness Month 2025 Campaign – A Message From Our CEO
Together, We Provided Hope, Raised Awareness, and Inspired Change
“As I reflect on Lupus Awareness Month, I want to thank everyone who helped make this year’s initiatives so meaningful and impactful.
Together, we launched the Lupus 1000 Challenge, raising over $21,000 to support those impacted by lupus. We introduced our very first Patients’ Choice Award, recognizing the compassion and excellence of rheumatologists across the country and we welcomed back Classrooms for a Cause, sparking important conversations in schools once again. None of this would have been possible without your support.
I am proud to share that 75 landmarks were illuminated across Canada, and eight provinces and four municipalities officially declared May 10th as World Lupus Day—a powerful show of solidarity and growing recognition nationwide. But what stood out most this month was the strength, creativity, and heart of our community. From coast to coast, community partnerships brought awareness to life in bold and innovative ways.
The growing recognition from municipal and provincial leaders gave me real hope—for more visibility, more understanding, and a better future for people living with lupus. The Lupus Canada team had the incredible opportunity to take part in Lupus 2025, a global congress that brought together researchers, healthcare professionals, and patients from around the world. Being in that space, surrounded by people united by a single goal—a life without lupus—was both humbling and deeply inspiring.
Thank you for standing with us. The impact we’ve made together this May will carry forward in powerful ways. I can’t wait to see what we continue to build, together.”
