Take Action This May

Lupus Awareness Month in Canada is an opportunity for individuals, communities, and workplaces to come together and take part in meaningful lupus awareness month activities.

Whether you take a small step or lead a larger initiative, every action helps make lupus more visible and supports those living with this complex autoimmune disease.

Every action taken this May helps make lupus more visible across Canada.

World Lupus Day Canada – May 10

On May 10, Lupus Canada joins organizations around the world to recognize World Lupus Day, a global awareness day dedicated to increasing understanding of lupus and its impact.

Led by the World Lupus Federation, this international effort highlights the need for improved patient care, increased research, earlier diagnosis, and better outcomes for those living with lupus.

Since 2004, lupus organizations worldwide have come together on May 10 to raise awareness and advocate for change.

Wear Purple for Lupus Awareness

Show your support and help raise awareness by wearing purple on May 10 for World Lupus Day.

Wearing purple is one of the simplest and most visible ways to honor those living with lupus, remember those lost to the disease, and support the progress we are making toward a future of life without lupus.

We encourage you to share this message with your friends, family, colleagues, and community to help spread awareness and spark important conversations.

Illuminate Canada in Purple for Lupus Awareness

There is no better way to celebrate Lupus Awareness Month than by shining purple across Canada.

Each year, landmarks nationwide are lit in purple to recognize Lupus Awareness Month and show solidarity with those living with lupus. These illuminations help bring visibility to lupus and highlight the importance of awareness in communities across the country.

Join us this World Lupus Day by requesting a local landmark illumination in your community. Lupus Canada has created a template letter to make it easy to reach out to your MP, Mayor, or local officials.

Let’s light up Canada for Lupus Awareness Month.
