Join Us This GivingTuesday — Together, We Can Make an Even Greater Difference.

For GivingTuesday, Lupus Canada is celebrating the power of generosity and community.

On December 2, 2025, your generosity can help Lupus Canada reach our $5,000 fundraising goal, fuelling research, advocacy, and awareness initiatives that move us closer to a Life Without Lupus.

Your Generosity Fuels a Life Without Lupus

GivingTuesday is a global movement that celebrates the power of generosity to transform communities. This year, Lupus Canada is reflecting on the impact we’ve made together and inviting you to help continue the momentum.

Every donation, story, and act of kindness brings us closer to a future where lupus is visible, understood, and supported.

Your Impact in 2025

Each year, your generosity drives real, measurable change. In 2025, your support helped create impact across our key pillars:

Research

2025 Catalyst Grant Awarded: Dr. Mohamed Osman, University of Alberta

Project: Defining the Molecular Drivers of Fatigue in Lupus – A Pilot Study

Fatigue is one of the most challenging and under-researched symptoms of lupus. This pilot study aims to uncover the biological mechanisms that contribute to lupus-related fatigue, paving the way for more effective treatments and improved quality of life.

Public Awareness

Lupus 2025 International Conference (Toronto)
Lupus Canada attended this global event, connecting with leading researchers and clinicians from around the world. Let’s Talk Lupus: A Pathway to Progress brings the latest insights from the LUPUS 2025 Congress directly to Canadians and advancing the conversation on global lupus research and innovation.

Community Highlights:

$21,000 raised through the inaugural Lupus 1000 Challenge

75 landmarks illuminated purple and 12 government proclamations recognizing World Lupus Day

Together, these efforts helped make lupus visible nationwide.

Advocacy

Ethics-Approved National Patient Survey (PeriPharm)
In partnership with PeriPharm, Lupus Canada conducted a national survey gathering both qualitative and quantitative data from lupus patients across Canada.

This ethics-backed study will become a critical resource for patient-reported outcomes and strengthen submissions to the Canadian Drug Agency (CDA) as new treatments emerge.

Advocacy Task Force
A newly formed coalition of specialists and patient ambassadors uniting to strengthen the national voice for lupus, drive policy change, and secure lupus-specific federal research funding.

Education & Health Resources

Vaccine Action Plan
Created to empower immunocompromised individuals with accessible, evidence-based vaccine information. This initiative supports informed healthcare decisions and addresses the unique needs of the lupus community.

Scholarship Program
Through the William Birchall Foundation, 10 scholarships were awarded to students living with lupus, supporting their education, resilience, and pursuit of excellence.

Together, these milestones represent compassion turned into action, progress made possible by your support.
