Collaboration Spotlight: Milk Ice Cream Club
May 10, 2025 – World Lupus Day
This World Lupus Day, enjoy a scoop of something sweet for a great cause. Calgary’s Milk Ice Cream Club is stepping up by donating $1 from every Ube product sold on May 10 to Lupus Canada in support of those affected by lupus.
Ube – pronounced “ooh-beh” – is a sweet purple yam synonymous with Filipino desserts. A sweet flavour with nutty undertones and an aroma described as vanilla- esque.
Offer valid on in-store purchases only.
A Sparkle of Support: Two Charmed
We’re honoured to partner with Two Charmed, a small business with a big heart. In support of Lupus Awareness Month—and beyond—Two Charmed is donating a percentage of sales to Lupus Canada, Lupus Ontario, and SickKids.

Raising Lupus Awareness in Calgary:
Big Sky Fitness
We’re thrilled to partner with Big Sky Fitness, a multi-purpose fitness club in the South of Calgary. Known as the motivational power behind their members’ personal wellness journeys, Big Sky provides the tools and environment for meaningful progress in health and fitness.
“Where you started your journey, and how you got to where you are today, are less important than where we will help you get to tomorrow. We encourage you to come find out why Big Sky members consistently rate us the Best Gym in Calgary.”
This May, Big Sky is stepping up to raise awareness for lupus in honour of Lupus Awareness Month and World Lupus Day (May 10th).
To show their support, Big Sky will:
- Decorate their front desk in purple
- Encourage members to “Put On Purple” on May 10th
- Share educational content on their social media
- Display QR codes on in-gym screens so members can learn more about lupus and how to support the cause
We are grateful to Big Sky Fitness for helping shine a light on lupus in their community and for encouraging their members to get involved.

Collaboration Spotlight:
Chaotic Mind Design
Art with Purpose: A Lupus Awareness Collaboration
This May, we’re honoured to partner with Jennifer Janes, artist and owner of Chaotic Mind Design, who lives with lupus. In support of Lupus Awareness Month, Jennifer has donated her artwork A Promise of New Beginnings—a personal piece inspired by resilience and renewal. Jennifer states, “Over the last several years, I felt like I had loss myself to my health. Art has been the means in which I have found myself.”
Throughout May, 50% of proceeds from every print sold will support Lupus Canada’s mission to improve the lives of those affected by lupus. As part of this collaboration, Jennifer is also giving away the original artwork in a special social media contest running May 12–16. The winner will be announced May 17.
Jennifer’s story is a testament to healing through creativity—and we’re proud to help her share it.
