Walk a Block 2007 Pictures and Summary

Walk a Block for Lupus – What a success!

Walk a Block for Lupus began on Thanksgiving 2001, when one family decided to walk a block and raise funds for people living with lupus.  Now in its 7th year, it has become Lupus Canada’s most important national fundraising and public awareness event!  With each year, Walk a Block has progressed and come to be a crucial fundraising event, with funds and walk participants doubling, even tripling!  In 2006, 37 Walk locations throughout Canada raised $142,000 and in 2007, over $345,000 was raised from 94 Walk locations throughout the country!  Traditionally, Walk a Block for Lupus has been held in October, coinciding with October as Lupus Awareness Month in Canada; starting in 2008, this event will take placen Sunday, May 10th as we celebrate World Lupus Day on this day.
